Cibus, 22nd edition
From May 7 to 10, the 22nd edition of CIBUS takes place, an unmissable event for enthusiasts and professionals in the Italian agri-food sector. Following the collaboration between Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare, this year’s edition is set to surpass all previous ones in terms of exhibitor numbers, with over 3,000 brands and a waiting list of 600 companies, as well as the حضور of buyers from Italian and international large-scale retail, with more than 1,000 already registered.
This international exhibition, held in the heart of Parma’s Food Valley, showcases Italian gastronomic excellence, recognised worldwide for its PDO and PGI products.
In addition to being divided into several sectors of interest, including cheese and dairy, meat and cured meats, confectionery and baked goods, frozen food and beverages, the exhibition is structured around a number of thematic areas, each dedicated to specific aspects of the food industry, from production to distribution, and from innovation to tradition:
INNOVATION CORNER, one of the most interesting areas, showcases a selection of 100 recently launched food and beverage products identified by a technical jury coordinated by Food Editore, reflecting the evolution of Italians’ eating habits. Located in Hall 7, this space offers an overview of the latest trends and the new directions the sector is taking, with constant attention to quality and sustainability.
CIBUS HEALTHY is another special section, launched last year and returning for the 2024 edition following its success, conceived as a true wellness village. Here, nutrition is framed within a broader and more comprehensive perspective, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle through the choice of foods beneficial to health.
STARTUP AREA highlights young innovative companies ready to challenge the market with fresh and groundbreaking ideas. This space serves as a launch pad for new businesses seeking visibility and networking opportunities with investors and distributors.
CIBUS SPECIALITY is the area that celebrates the diversity and richness of regional speciality products, offering visitors a journey through the unique flavours that only Italy can offer. Here, small producers and artisanal companies showcase their creations, demonstrating how tradition can meet innovation.
CIBUS DELLE IDEE is the space where conferences and workshops take place, with a rich programme of events designed to discuss the sector’s most pressing topics. Experts, academics and professionals come together to share knowledge and stimulate dialogue on issues such as sustainability, food safety and new market strategies.
CIBUS TALENT ACADEMY is dedicated to training and education, with activities and seminars aimed at developing the skills of the future leaders of the food sector. This area is essential for those who want to stay up to date and grow professionally in the dynamic agri-food world.
CIBUS FOOD SAVING is an initiative highlighting the importance of reducing food waste, promoting responsible practices among both producers and consumers. This area demonstrates the exhibition’s commitment to a more sustainable and conscious future.
CIBUS OFF offers a programme of side events taking place throughout the city of Parma, creating a link between the exhibition and the local area. Tastings, guided tours and performances enrich the CIBUS experience, immersing visitors in Parma’s food and wine culture.
Beyond these areas, CIBUS is also a meeting point for business, with the presence of international buyers and the opportunity to establish and develop commercial relationships. The exhibition is a unique occasion to explore the latest innovations, discover new products and trends, and build meaningful relationships within the food industry.
In conclusion, CIBUS is not just a trade fair, but a global event celebrating the very best of Made in Italy in the agri-food sector, offering a platform for exchange and growth for all the players involved. For more information, please visit the exhibition’s official website.
