Borin will take part in the 21st edition of Marca
From January 15 to 16, 2025, Borin will take part in the 21st edition of MARCA by BolognaFiere, the key event for the private label sector. Organised in collaboration with ADM (Modern Distribution Association), the exhibition explores the entire supply chain, from raw materials to finished products, offering a unique platform for networking and innovation.
Private Label
The core of MARCA 2025 is represented by private label, with exhibitors showcasing the latest trends in products, packaging, sustainability and technological innovation. The exhibition hosts over 1,100 companies and buyers from more than 30 countries, with a strong focus on internationalisation through the International Private Label Selection (IPLS), a section dedicated to innovative products.
Sustainability
A key theme will be sustainability, with initiatives such as the Digital Product Passport, a tool designed to track the product lifecycle and promote the circular economy. Participants will have the opportunity to explore innovative solutions to improve product traceability and management.

Tell me your age and I’ll tell you how you shop! How different purchasing strategies influence NON-FOOD trends
Thursday, January 16, 2025 | 11:30 – 12:30
Presentation by Samanta Correale, Business Intelligence Senior Manager at GS1 Italy
The GS1 Italy Non-Food Observatory highlights a highly diverse and dynamic market: sales volumes are increasing, although not across all sectors, alongside a significant rationalisation of retail space. Key insights include:
- retail locations in shopping centres and urban areas are under pressure;
- several post-pandemic trends are consolidating;
- consumer choices are becoming increasingly segmented, influenced by generational factors, particularly in relation to sustainability.
THEMATIC AREAS
Among the various areas, the following stand out:
Marca Fresh: an exclusive format dedicated to fresh products, particularly fruit and vegetables, which represent a strategic segment for private label. The area covers over 800 m² and offers a unique opportunity to discuss sustainable innovation, consumer trends and best practices. International buyers and retailers will be present for B2B meetings, insights and networking. This space is designed to highlight the central role of fruit and vegetables in the modern diet, with a focus on sustainability and market evolution.
Packaging Design Award: organised by ADI (Association for Industrial Design), this award recognises the best packaging showcased during the exhibition. The jury evaluates innovative design, functionality and sustainability. This year, the award will take place on January 16 and will highlight projects that not only enhance the consumer experience but also align with environmental sustainability goals. It is an opportunity for companies to demonstrate how packaging can make a difference in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
MARCA is the ideal opportunity to discover future trends in large-scale retail and private label. For more information, visit the official Marca BolognaFiere 2025 website.
